In 1974, IGC founder Robert Berchik identified an absence of high quality nursery products specifically designed for the life style of an Australian family. Understanding the unique requirements of our extreme country, coupled with a desire to keep our children safe, led to the development of the Mother’s Choice, Go Safe and bertini brands.

In 2007 Dorel, an international giant in world class juvenile products, acquired an interest in IGC. This amalgamation of these two strong companies has expanded the portfolio to include Safety 1st the world leader in child safety products, Maxi-Cosi and Quinny the highly desirable European ranges of strollers and travel systems.
